Nicolás Arízaga is an Ecuadorian political consultant, educator, and linguist (Spanish-ES<>English-EN) specializing in political-legal translation and interpretation, rhetoric, international affairs and development, policy and discourse analysis. Nicolás is the CEO of Political & Legal Translation in Denver, CO, and a Registered Court Interpreter for Spanish for the Wyoming Supreme Court. He is a member of the Leadership Council and the Podcast Editor at the Spanish Language Division (SPD) of the American Translators Association (ATA).
In addition to his language pair, he has studied French and Portuguese. He earned a bilingual bachelor’s degree in international studies from Universidad del Azuay in Ecuador and a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from the University of Wyoming. Nicolás was a sustainable development professional and international cooperation advocate in Ecuador for seven years before moving to the United States to continue his education. He worked at the University of Wyoming for three years, focusing on graduate education and higher education information technology. He has fostered bilingual and bicultural exchange programs with AIESEC International and Partners of the Americas for many years.
